The rhythms of the coastal line
A very high-angle, minimalist, aerial view of the road. The road is a dark, clean line cutting through a simple landscape. Tiny white dots (cars) move along the road, creating subtle, radiating waves of color that represent the sound of "Jai Ho."
This focuses on the juxtaposition of the chaotic, noisy city and the ordered, musical 500-meter stretch. This is the Urban innovation, joy in public infrastructure, and the blending of technology with culture.
Kashish Riyaz is a visual artist from Nainital, Uttarakhand, currently pursuing a Master’s in Fine Arts with a focus on acrylic and conceptual practices after completing a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. Her work explores the idea of the road as both a physical and psychological space—one that reflects transition, movement, human ambition, and the tension between people and the natural environment. Through minimalist compositions, she examines the marks humans leave on the landscape and the contradictions between systems of order and human behavior. Using road signs and symbols as visual language, her work questions neglect, control, and collective responsibility. Kashish’s practice invites viewers to slow down, reflect on everyday transit, and reconsider the unnoticed significance of the spaces they pass through.
